Last year, after I graduated from Gardner-Webb University, I moved back home to little ‘ole Wauchula, Florida in May. As soon as I got home, I started trying to build up my business. It was difficult & took lots of hard work, but it slowly began growing. But the best thing I did during that first summer was host Back to School Mini Sessions. My calendar filled up quick & with some adorable kiddos! And now, many of those families have continued choosing me to photograph all the special times.
This year’s Back to School Minis were no different. Within a day of posting them, most of my slots were filled. So I knew that this year was going to be just as adorable & successful. So I spent lots of time gathering props & inspiration & planning for the two days of sweaty, but also totally worth it work with the dozens of kids I would photograph.
It’s something I knew to expect, because, if you know Florida in the summertime, then you know it can storm for about 5 minutes, be sunny for the next 10 & then rain again. It’s so unexpected! But, I didn’t want to make any changes until I had to & when I finally had to change my location, all of my families were so understanding!
The new location turned out perfectly! We had covering when we needed it & a pretty outdoor spot when the rain stopped for a few! All the cute kids showed up & were so well behaved & straight adorbs! It was a perfect 2 days!! Then the pictures turned out so well in fact, that after shooting all of the sessions on Friday & Saturday, I delivered them all by Monday! I just couldn’t help myself!
So get ready to scroll through some cute little faces with some adorable little personalities that really shine through!! I think this may be the cutest annual photography event I’ll host!
