Leah & I have been friends for years. Like seriously, since 2nd grade. We grew up in the same classes, in the same group of friends, doing the same sports… literally everything. She has always been such a dear friend to me. And now here she is… a University of Florida graduate (as of 3 days ago!) Yay!
Leah has always been one of those friends that no matter how long you go without talking, it never feels any different. After High School, Leah & I both moved to attend different colleges, but each time we would see each other, it always felt the same. She has the sweetest soul & the most joyous personality! I feel like that shines through these photos in her senior session.
Leah asked me to drive up to Gainseville for her senior session. Although we’ve been friends forever, I figured she’d find a local friend to take some shots for her. But instead she had me make a fun weekend trip out of it for such an important time! How special!
So my mom & I hoped in the car for a 3 hour trip to the University of Florida & prayed the rain would hold off. As soon as we got there, it started sprinkling. Of course! Florida really doesn’t cooperate very well in the summer, haha! But Leah didn’t stress.
We started walking towards Ben Hill Griffith Stadium for those classic UF Grad shots in the huge empty stadium & the stadium just happened to unexpectedly be closed for maintenance. But again, Leah didn’t stress. Leah made the best of everything! Despite the non-sunny, overly cloudy day & the closed stadium, she still got everything she wanted.
What is so important to me is a photo that truly shows a person. To me, it’s not always about the gorgeous scenery or perfect outfits. Which although Leah had that, it’s not what makes me love these photos. I believe these photos are so special because they really display who Leah is. Her sweet & gentle personality shows through & captures such an exciting time in her life!
