Bridal detail time is one of my FAVORITE moments of the wedding day! This is the part of the day that most brides don’t tend to think about when it comes to wedding coverage, but it is SO important! It not only allows your photographer to get into the flow of the day, but it allows them to fully capture every aspect to your wedding… even down to the tiniest of details! Plus, it allows us to start your wedding gallery with gorgeous detail images that you will love!
The first thing that I do when I arrive at a wedding is a round up all of the brides details! Every once in a while though, some of these little details can be forgotten – Let’s be honest, a copy of the wedding invitation for the photographer to photograph isn’t usually at the top of the brides list of things to remember! So here is a checklist for brides on ALL of the items you need while getting ready to guarantee the BEST detail images for your day!
I know this one seems super obvious, but it is basically the most important one! Make sure you dress and your bridesmaids dresses are in the getting ready room! A lot of times your photographer will use the dresses for backdrops for your detail images because it allows us to keep a consistent feel to your wedding gallery!
EXTRA TIP: Order special hangers for your dresses! It not only gives your images a more personal touch, but it looks so much prettier than the white hangers they come on!
Make sure your wedding bouquet gets delivered to where you are getting ready! Adding your bouquet into your detail images adds not only a great pop of color, but also allows for extra photos of those gorgeous fresh flowers!
A lot of times the best man holds onto the rings until the ceremony, but that sadly doesn’t allow time for your photographer to photograph them! So be sure you have both wedding bands and your engagement ring with you!
EXTRA TIP: Be sure all of your rings are cleaned the week of your wedding! Having them recently cleaned will allow them to sparkle a bit more when photographed!
As a bride you have a quite a few accessories (earrings, necklace, shoes, garter, veil), and even keepsake items from family members! I always recommend that all brides put these items into a bag or box to keep them together, so on the day of your wedding you know exactly where all of these items are!
Are you exchanging gifts on your wedding day? Be sure to have them close by so your photographer can photograph them before they are opened!
This may seem like a small item, but it is one that I love adding into detail images.
EXTRA TIP: Buy a new bottle of perfume specifically for your wedding day. It will photograph much better than an almost empty bottle.
I LOVE photographing wedding invitations. From the gorgeous calligraphy options, lace detailing, soft watercolor borders, and so much more; it allows your detail images to really portray your wedding style!
So, don’t worry, I’ll send this over the week of your wedding… BUT…
